It would be very interesting to know the various people involved and the processes used to come up with (a) the design, which is awful, and (b) the marketing approach, which was worse. Still, when we look back across the decades we see similar disastrous decisions made by UK and US manufacturers (Austin Allegro, Pontiac Aztec, Chevrolet Impala, etc.) so Tata isn't alone.
