It’s also important to note that pseudo-scientific ideas are rarely consistent with the vast body of knowledge we know to be reliable. Perpetual motion machines, whizzy space-drives that create action without reaction, anti-gravity meditation, etc. all require our observable universe to make astonishing exceptions in order to permit these phenomenon. String theory, while currently untestable, at least is attempting to unify observable phenomenon rather than asking to be excused having to fit in with everything we know about the universe to date.
