It's always charming to see self-indulgent people in the affluent West proclaim that "degrowth" is the "answer" to every trendy problem. The fact this would condemn billions to continued poverty, environmental hazards (try burning animal dung to keep warm and see how much you like it) and ill health is irrelevant so long as a few affluent lefty-trendy types can keep telling people what they can't have.

This posture is not only stupid and ignorant, ignoring all economic development over the last 200 years, but is also profoundly immoral. It's a case of "we're alright, so f*ck everyone else in the world who hasn't attained our standard of living."
