It's clear that we're at least a century away from being able to solve the basic problems associated with neuro-nano technologies. But if those problems are solved, we can be sure the very first applications will be to enable people to spend even more time on mind-numbing pursuits - except, that is, in countries where governments use the technology to ensure complete control of the population. As we see over and over again, no technology offers such benefits that we don't instantly trivialize it and squander it on self-harming pursuits.
