It’s interesting how varied “accent susceptibility” can be. I’ve known women who are charmed by my Oxford English accent and others who prefer my crisp Parisian French accent. No one seems to like Russian except for the heroine of A Fish Called Wanda, and opinions are mixed on the northern Italian accent. I’ve often thought it would be interested to run a study to see if elements of person A’s accent makes it more likely they’ll find elements of person B’s accent attractive or otherwise.
