It’s lovely that you appreciated your husband’s contributions. In my case, I was doing all the shopping, cooking, cleaning, diaper changing, getting up multiple times per night to soothe them, etc. and all this did was engender huge resentment in my wife (who nevertheless didn’t want to exert herself to perform these activities unless I wasn’t present). I discovered that becoming parents reveals things we would not otherwise have known. Sometimes the revelations are wonderful and bring people closer together; at other times, not so much…
