It's pretty clear you've not been drinking the Musk Kool-Aid nor watching enough Star Trek/Star Wars movies. By cluttering people's heads with facts and reason, you're spoiling the teenboy fantasy that will consume tens of billions of dollars for no useful purpose whatsoever - and where's the fun in that? Sure, the idea of humans colonizing space in order to avoid becoming extinct mostly because of the stupid stuff we're doing to ourselves and to our planet is actually risible, but who cares? When there is billions of dollars of gullible VC money and hundreds of millions of dollars of gullible government money laying there for the taking, why not take it, do a few TED talks, and pretend reality is totally different? Especially when it's going to be some other dumb suckers who discover how very unpleasant and lethal attempting to live on Mars will really be, while you're sitting in your mansion counting what's left over from all those Mars mission investments...
