It's unfair to blame Biden for being a spineless imbecile, just as it's unfair to blame Trump for being a sniveling whining moron. They are both the inevitable products of qualification-free representative democracy. As even the most ignorant and stupid person's vote counts as much as the vote of an informed thoughtful person, and as there are far fewer of the latter than there are of the former, we can't be surprised that our current implementations of democracy reliably result in the election of incompetent imbeciles. This is because most people are ignorant and stupid and want empty soundbites, not complex reality. Successful politicians therefore are the ones who feed the mob with such empty trash - and garner millions of votes by doing so. The fact is, the West is doomed because we cling to a system that is utterly unfit for purpose and refuse to accept that in a complex world it's necessary to demonstrate some minimum level of competence before being granted privileges. But as we keep mindlessly chanting "it's better than kings or dictators" we'll continue to descend into tyranny and ultimate dissilution. Because we'll be voting for it all the way to the end.
