It's unlikely our species will be here 100,000 years hence. In fact, even surviving another 1,000 years seems implausible. So the question may be moot. Perhaps the larger question is whether the site is sufficient to persist for 100,000 years. At any rate it's better than dumping waste into the ocean in barrels that will rust away after 100 years, while containing waste that will remain highly radioactive for 10,000 years...
