I've often thought the USA and Russia have a great many unacknowledged similarities: high religiosity, massive income disparity, general ignorance about the wider world, and now... the glory of telling lies everyone knows are lies simply to demonstrate absolute power. Trump does this because he's an infantile whining moron, but he's arrived at precisely the same destination as Putin who does it consciously. The two nations are apparently made for each other.
