Jeff, thanks for an interesting article. I’ve not used design sprints for the very reasons you identify. As the human brain prefers simplicity to complexity, however, and as the term “design sprint” is simple and currently trendy whereas your objections require contemplating multi-faceted real-world issues, I doubt you’ll get much traction for your analysis. I also suspect that people who’ve managed to work around the inherent absurdity of the design sprint concept won’t realize how much of it they’ve abandoned in order to achieve some sort of adequate output from the process.
