The core problem, of course, is the idea of humans colonizing any non-Earth celestial body. We’re adapted for our home planet, there’s zero compelling reason for us to be anywhere else, and the expense & risk of any attempt to live elsewhere vastly exceeds any benefit even the most Musk-like sci-fi enthusiast could dream up under the influence of strong narcotics.

It’s a real shame we spend our time indulging in Star Trek fantasies while ignoring the pressing need to stop turning the Earth into a man-made simulacrum of Venus.
