Making The Same Old Mistakes

Why Europe’s decision to rely more on China is just as catastrophically stupid as the corporations who are lying to Trump about their US investments

It seems that no matter how many times a bad strategy fails over the course of human history, we just can’t resist doing it over and over again while hoping for a different outcome next time. Whether it’s a small group allying itself to a stronger group in order to gain a “victory” over hated neighbors — which always ends up with the first group itself then being conquered — or a country sponsoring extremists to destabilize a neighbor — and thereby guaranteeing that those same extremists will eventually destabilize it too — we humans seem addicted to “smart” short-term idiocies that inevitably end up harming those who utilize them.

Europe is embarking on just such a “smart” move with regards to China, and US corporations are being “smart” by lying to the mindless vermin Trump about their US investment plans. While these two phenomenon appear to be different they are in fact both examples of precisely the same total failure to comprehend the inevitable future outcome of excessively stupid actions.

Let’s begin first with Europe.
