Mike, your analysis is astute and pertinent. The one thing that's missing, however, is an analysis of the damage Trump did despite being an infantile and spineless incompetent. Whereas Hitler had real courage (the Iron Cross was not given lightly, and he faced real bullets during his putsch attempt) Trump is just a flabby baby-man who whines and then runs away to hide under the bed. But even this pathetic creature was able to show how willing and eager the Republican Party is to urinate over every Constitutional and democratic norm. It is the GoP that is the real cancer in the heart of the USA, not the orange moron. And the GoP is not going anywhere. The real danger to the USA was never Trump himself - it was the fact he showed how effortlessly the USA can be subverted thanks to the fact the Republican Party is now nothing more than a neo-fascist organization. It is the next Republican president who will usher in tyranny; Trump was merely the freak show warm-up act.
