Now you’re attempting to use facts and reason to make a rational case. But this is the USA we’re talking about, a nation in which facts and reason have no place and no purchase. Trumpies lack the intellectual capacity to understand even the most rudimentary correlation between events, which is why they love to howl and drool along to MAGA and Lock Her Up and Build The Wall. Democracy, as Plato pointed out 2,500 years ago, always leads to tyranny because every society always contains a huge percentage of the population that is so stupid that even a dim-witted demagogue can manipulate them. The resulting chaos has people screaming to be saved by a “strong” leader, and the rest quite literally is history.
