Of all the things we need concern ourselves about, asteroid impact doesn't even make the Top 10,000 list. We are infinitely more likely to destroy ourselves through ineradicable human stupidity than to survive long enough to have even the remotest statistical probability of experiencing a global-scale impact, the sort which is estimated to occur not more frequently than every 100 million years.
