Oh, I do love a good old-fashioned mentally unstable conspiracy theory! In the real world, however, it's useful to distinguish between dystopian fantasy and sadly incompetent reality. Yes, Western journalistic babble about Russian military incompetence is dramatically over-done, but so is all journalistic babble. Journalists are in the business of generating sensation in order to grab attention for a few monetizable moments. They know also not to confuse the audience with potentially contradictory information. So we are presented with a stream of simple-minded nonsense that usually bears little reality to what is actually happening, but that's not the point. The point, for news organizations, is to compete as effectively as possible against all other forms of entertainment so as to keep revenues flowing.

Once we realize that, we can see that there's no grand conspiracy; just empty-headed journalists doing what they always do in order to secure their monthly pay cheques.

Also, just so you're aware, the USA is not at war with Russia. Russia invaded Ukraine and when Ukraine didn't fall in the first few days, the USA saw a great opportunity to degrade Russian military capacity by supplying a drip-feed of old equipment to Ukraine, thereby achieving US interests at the cost of Ukrainian lives. It's cynical, and it's stupid, but it hardly amounts to the kind of world domination your fervid imagination has conjured up.
