One of the great things about having a wide range of sexual experiences is that we learn a lot. One of the downsides is that, by sheer statistical probability alone we'll occasionally encounter people who are emotionally damaged. It's a bit like coming out of a store to find the car's been scraped by some incompetent driver: there's an initial emotional shock, but then we have to write it off because it's not really significant. There are always going to be some people so internally conflicted that their ability to function adequately is compromised. All we can do is recognize that the problem isn't our responsibility nor is it any reflection on us, and walk away.
