One of the many problems of religion is that believers fail to grasp the fact that reality is complex and no mythology can provide a "how-to" guide that is relevant for each and every occasion. Moreover, people who indulge in the Christian mythology are trapped within a belief system that originated several thousand years ago when the god El was mashed together with the Israelite cult god Yahweh. By definition, this mythology is a mythology of primitive concepts and violence. The overlay of the Jesus myth does little to improve the situation. Consequently, it follows that people who believe in this mythology are necessarily intellectually limited, as intelligent people wouldn't have any interest in such a stunted and squalid myth. Therefore, Trump is an easy lie for them to swallow because their entire worldview is based on an incoherent jumble of unpleasant assertions.
