One thing is abundantly clear: whatever harm Putin inflicts on Ukraine will not move the West from its posture of spineless passivity. The end-game is almost certainly going to comprise Western pressure, combined with a reduction in aid, to "negotiate" with (e.g. surrender to) the Kremlin, thereby further encouraging future Russian adventurism. The lessons of the 1930s have been forgotten by today's breed of Western "leaders" such as Macron.
