Only morons thought Brexit was anything other than mindless soundbites ("take back control" and "restore sovereignty") and endless lies ("350 million a week for the NHS!"). Unfortunately, there are a lot of morons in the world and they're permitted to vote. The British also had plenty of opportunity to vote out the Tories and vote in the LibDems who campaigned explicitly on revoking Article 50 and preventing national suicide. But... people voted for the Tories and by extension for Brexit.

In short, the British deserve everything that's coming to them. Most clever people have either left or are looking for ways out; no doubt everyone else will grumble and moan but, as always, do nothing meaningful at all. After all, there's no easy-to-remember soundbite for self-inflicted economic collapse.
