Ordinary people are profoundly ignorant and empty-headed. They just want a diet of mindless sensationalism, and so that's what "news" organizations offer up in order to compete with the latest MCU release, the latest celeb scandal, and whatever sporting thing is happening today. The great thing about unregulated media markets is that they give ordinary people precisely what they want. And that's why our society is ending.
