People are simple animals and love predictability. That's why popular entertainments are always so formulaic, and why infantile lies are always preferred to any vague adumbration of real-world complexity. We love repeats so very much that we're now rushing to repeat World War II all over again, only this time with thermonuclear weapons. Can't help but applaud representative democracy, that makes it all possible by ensuring ignorant foolish people get to vote for incompetent morons.
