Personal transportation will, one day, be primarily EVs. Today, however, they're pointless. Not only does the total lifecycle pollution exceed that of ICE vehicles (because most electricity is not from renewables today) but the inability to recycle all the lithium etc. means that after-life pollution is also higher than ICE vehicles. Finally, only Norway and Switzerland have anywhere near the distribution infrastructure necessary to power huge numbers of EVs, and a great many countries simply haven't thought about the main problem of charging for people who live on streets without dedicated parking spots.

Like nuclear fusion, EVs are the future - one day.
