Raj, thanks for writing this article with such clarity. Personally I reject the thesis entirely for a variety of reasons about which I’ve written elsewhere on Medium, but yours is the first “blockchain is a miracle and will be everywhere, including in our ice-cream and coffee!” article that manages to avoid too much hype and attempts to reason through a few of the many problems blockchain presents.

My only area of uncertainty is how long it will be before the present enthusiasm for blockchain everywhere will fade as the practical problems become clear and the vaunted benefits fail to materialize. Especially with blockchain’s inherent limitations regarding transaction volumes…

But before then I’m sure we’ll see pizza-on-blockchain, EdTech-blockchain startups, and no doubt blockchain-powered electric scooter urban initiatives. As well as, of course, blockchain coffee & donuts.
