Russia's blustering about moving some battle groups to the Finnish border would have been infinitely more convincing three months ago. Today, it's clear the Russian military is far from being the near-peer force Western planners imagined. Any Russian incursion into Finland will end very badly for the Russians and even the most fearful sycophantic Russian general would have to think long and hard before signing up for what would essentially be a suicide mission - unless Putin decides it's time to use tactical battlefield nuclear weapons, which is now really the only card he has left.
