Simon Melov’s work at the Buck Institute back in 2006 showed that even people commencing resistance exercise for the first time in their 70s could benefit significantly. But it seems that most people simply want a magic pill that lets them remain indolent and able to consume endless junk without any consequences. Even Melov commented, after one presentation of his findings, that “we hope to work with pharmaceuticals companies to see if its possible to develop compounds that mimic the way the body reacts positively to exercise.”
