Your argument is cogent but that's only going to annoy people, who will simply post their own personal beliefs regardless of the rationality thereof. Meanwhile the generic media narrative will continue to provide a simple, but in reality quite misleading, impression of relative risks and benefits. Worse still is the media-generated impression of an existential threat while in reality WHO figures clearly show that very few people need worry about either death or significant long-term ill effects. By reporting only the stories of those who fall ill, the media distorts the true picture - as is inevitable when every news organization must compete for eyeballs by the most sensationalist means available.
