Stupid spineless Western leaders don't need any excuses to abandon Ukraine - they are already doing so without the need of Russian propaganda about dead children. The GoP in the USA will block as much aid as it can and when the mindless creature Trump waddles back into the White House it will be game over for Ukraine, if it's not already fallen by then. Europeans are pathetic and useless. So we don't need to agonize over whether or not a Ukrainian strike accidentally caused collateral damage (and let's remember the thousands of dead Iraqi and Afghani civilians caused by random collateral damage inflicted by US troops and contractors...) because it doesn't make any difference to anyone.
