In addition, ad copy can sometimes inspire others to write in turn. My favorite example of what we may term "dem-lit" comes from the late 1970s in the UK when McSlop ran a campaign featuring enormous posters of their triple-bypass-burgers featuring the phrase "You'll remember it all the way home!" underneath which one wit added, "Or all the way to the nearest public lavatory, whichever is closer."
