Thanks Alexander for perhaps unintentionally demonstrating why nobody cares about philosophy any more - it was a very poor precursor to empiricism and now that we have empiricism it's almost entirely a waste of time. In fact one can make a strong case that the only worthwhile contribution made anywhere in philosophy over the last 200 years has been the trolley car problem, which at least demonstrates that there can be no absolute morality. Aside from that, it's all irrelevant armchair muttering.
