Thanks Courtney for an interesting article. I'd concur that the mass media loves to twist facts in order to create maximum sensationalism and create bogus narratives entirely for the purpose of generating ad revenues - as such, it's one of the two main problems faced by modern society. Sadly, most people simply stare at the screen and believe whatever they're told without ever once thinking about the plausibility.

As for mass shootings, while they are thankfully not daily events, they nearly are: the USA suffers from an insane level of gun violence that exceeds the death toll of many war zones. 34,000 people per year on average die because a few morons think that an ancient piece of text is akin to biblical scripture. Civilized nations long ago realized that allowing civilians to wander around with deadly weapons is a bad idea - no matter how absurd and delusional the justifications happen to be.
