Thanks for an important article. I actually co-founded a nutritional supplement company some years ago, leveraging the best available research, to provide the various clinically-proven micronutrients too often lacking in the typical diet. The formulation was subject to a randomized double-blind clinical trial with over 100 participants by the BPNRC at the University of Northumbria, UK. Compared to the control group consuming a daily placebo of equivalent calories, the experimental group typically scored 100% higher across seven standardized tests of cognition. These results were sustained over the 6-month study with no attenuation (unlike fashionable nootropics, the effects of which attenuate rapidly). Just goes to show that a little can go a long way. Sadly, few people seem to care about improving their cognitive and physical health; the typical person just wants as much cheap McSlop as they can cram down their throats.
