Thanks Lena for an amusing romp through cosmology! I’m comforted by the knowledge that we humans (i) are likely to self-exterminate in the next 200 years, and even if we don’t then (ii) physiological realities mean there is zero probability of us expanding beyond the Earth. Star Trek will forever remain fiction, which is a good thing considering how poorly we’re treating the single planet for which we’re perfectly adapted. It’s horrifying to imagine how we’d trash other planets if we had the physiological capacity to survive elsewhere.
