The charmingly naive belief underpinning all lefty-trendy performative wokeness is that magically, if only we cancel enough things and people and censor thinking to the necessary degree, the world can be rendered fair and just and equitable. In its way, Political Correctness is no different from Marxism, with its blind faith in the perfectibility of human nature by means of all necessary force. Fortunately the posturing darlings of cancel culture don't have access to State-sanctioned violence, so we can ignore their endless self-referential whining and get on with the business of dealing with real issues and addressing tangible problems that don't require us to neurotically see micro-aggressions and racism and cultural appropriations in everything everywhere.
