The core problem for our species is that while there is a tiny percentage of clever people who can invent and make clever things, the vast majority of us are nothing more than apes mindlessly stroking smartphones. Our brains are conditioned by hundreds of thousands of years of evolution to operate within small tribes, all of which viewed one another as largely hostile. No matter what the clever people invent, the rest of us will remain trapped in the primitive modality of zero-sum thinking and that always inexorably leads to conflict whether on land, on sea, or in space.
