The deployment of a single Patriot battery does indeed send a message to Putin, but not the message indicated in this article. The actual message being sent - the same as is sent by giving Ukraine no MBTs and a scant 50 Bradley IFVs from storage - is that the West continues to do far too little, far too late, because it remains fearful of Putin's empty blustering about nuclear weapons and is thus content to see Ukraine reduced to rubble and its people in the occupied territories suffer enormous harms so as to keep flabby self-centered Western voters unalarmed. As a result, we are seeing further small Russian gains on the eastern line of contact - quite the opposite of the supposed collapse of the Russian forces that lazy sensation-seeking Western journalists have been babbling about for far too many weeks.
