The hard fact is that all mass media productions are profoundly unrealistic. That said, porn is probably less harmful than the endless glamorization of violence typical in US “entertainments” (for example, a US child will have witnessed more than one million violent acts on TV by the age of four) and definitely less harmful than the toxic sensationalism that’s passed off as “news.” As with all media productions, the golden rule is to disbelieve everything you see and always bear in mind the rule caveat emptor.
