The hard fact is that Ukraine was always doomed to suffer Russian invasion, after the West told Putin loud & clear that they would in no way oppose Russian forces. Everything else was just surface noise. As the West is terrified of potential nuclear conflict, Russia has carte blanche to do whatever it wants, including - sooner rather than later - retaking the Baltic states. The blindingly obvious fact is that Western fear of nuclear conflict means the West has already surrendered, even if dull-witted politicians and clueless journalists fail to grasp this basic fact yet. The same fear of Putin's tactical battlefield nuclear weapons that prevents the West from doing anything about Ukraine will also paralyze the West when Putin invades the Baltic states. Even if NATO has a few thousand ground forces in those countries, it will be much easier to scramble to evacuate them than to stand firm against the insane little Russian dictator.
The world as we knew it is gone. Tomorrow will be a far more brutal and ugly place.
