The idea that Western politicians are capable of anything even remotely approaching coherent thought about any topic at all, never mind one so far beyond their capacity as Russia's invasion of Ukraine, is genuinely charming. Sadly, in the real world, these people reached the summit of power because of their ability to obfuscate over one or two words in a 10,000 word communique no one will ever read, and their ability to make endless windy speeches while doing nothing of importance - and thus, by avoiding action, also avoiding any blame for any outcome that any voter might object to.

Confronted with the need for rapid and decisive action, our "leaders" abjectly fail and continue to fail. Scholz is merely the most blatant spineless incompetent, but let's be honest: the rest are not far behind.

I weep for Ukraine.
