Why the return of Donald Trump to the US White House puts China’s dictator Xi Jinping on top of the world

Although the return of the Trump to the US White House on 20th January 2025 will ensure Vladimir Putin’s victory over Ukraine, then Russia’s subsequent invasion of the Baltic nations in 2027, and thereby NATO’s total collapse, the real winner is China’s leader Xi Jinping.

This is despite the likelihood of Trump imposing high tariffs on Chinese imports in order to shore up the share price of Tesla, the failing EV manufacturer owned by Trump’s loyal and craven supporter Elon Musk.

To see why Trump’s re-election has guaranteed Chinese global dominance, we need to consider the various dimensions of geopolitics and economics in order to understand the magnitude of the USA’s perfectly democratic and entirely predictable decision to self-destruct.

First let’s look at the US national debt. Although in some people’s imagination the Republican Party is fiscally responsible, in reality it’s been profligate since the Reagan years, taking the USA from having a surplus to ensuring near-continual increases of the debt aside from a brief period under the second Clinton administration.
