The Only Question
Who will ultimately benefit from Trump’s destruction of the USA, aside from Putin and Xi?
A great many commentators ranging from bloggers to major publications like The Economist are busy chronicling Trump’s flurry of hate-filled globally-harmful idiocies as the infantile orange creature and his coterie of slithering enablers proceed to remove the last shreds of what was left of the USA.
But it’s all irrelevant.
Charting Trump’s moronic tweets and the implementation of policies guaranteed to destroy the entire Western world is like obsessing over the exact way in which the hull of the Titanic was bent and torn by the iceberg it collided with while also obsessively measuring precisely where the gelid water reached at every minute as the vessel sank beneath the waves. By focusing on the immediate and obvious yet ultimately irrelevant details, everyone seems determined to miss the bigger picture.
As I predicted when Biden narrowly beat Trump in 2020 by a mere 43,000 votes (due to the totally insane US Electoral College system, a candidate can win millions more votes than their opponent but still lose the election), Trump would not be a shameful and deeply embarrassing footnote in US history but instead would return in 2025 and usher in a dictatorship. This is precisely what is happening now.
In his first few days back in power, Trump has demonstrated that the cravenly supine Republican Party, which now is full of vermin and Loony Tunes to the exclusion of nearly all other forms of life, gives him total control over the future of the USA. Concentration camps are already being planned. Neo-Nazi insurrectionists have been released from jail and encouraged to do whatever they want to whoever they want (Trump-enabling billionaires excepted, of course; if you’re ultra-rich you’re off-limits but everyone else is fair game). Treason is “smart” and giving dictators everything they want is “smart” too. Best of all, allies exist so you can steal their territories! This is super-smart!
Obviously the USA is finished and its future will even more closely resemble that of Russia than it already does. The rest of the West, too complacent and short-sighted to understand that the world they relied on is now over, will crumble…
