The primary argument against the simulation hypothesis is actually the same argument against "god made it all." In short: it merely introduces a pointless regression and explains nothing whatsoever. I'm unclear why so many people seem to want to create such ontologies but it appears to be yet one more hardwired flaw in the way our ape-brains function. It's ironic that Tyson succumbs to this, given his position on religionism.

As for Musk, his only intellectual gift is the ability to extract huge sums of cash from gullible investors so he hardly qualifies as a font of knowledge about anything whatsoever.
