The problem with religionism is that it is always inevitably in conflict with reality. The notion that the infantile tribal myths of ignorant goat-herders who lived more than 3,000 years ago can be any sort of guide to living is inherently absurd. They didn’t even know enough to wash their hands before touching food.
No society aspiring to civilized values can permit religionism any significant influence over people, least of all vulnerable children. Europe learned this the hard way after hundreds of years of horror; sadly the USA has failed to benefit from this understanding. As a result, much of the USA is more akin to places such as Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and the most backward parts of Africa than to any modern nation when it comes to contemporary moeurs.
