The Stanford ethnologist and neuroscientist Robert Sapolsky noted, "you can't reason a person out of a belief they didn't reason themselves into." What this means for Trump supporters is that they cannot be reasoned with. Once the orange creature tells them some lie, they believe it and cling to it and will carry it inside their heads until they die. And Trump tells them that Ukraine should be handed to Putin because he remains furious that the Zelensky administration refused to fabricate evidence against Biden that could be used in the last US Presidential election. Thus for Trump supporters, all that matters is to worship their flabby orange god; reality has no purchase upon them. And so it is more than likely Trump will return to the White House in 2025 and thereafter finish the job of destroying US credibility and capacity around the world - and his brainless oafish supporters will howl their dull-eyed approval as he tears the USA to shreds in order to "make it great again."
