There are basically two kinds of people in the West who make the fallacious arguments so well deconstructed in this article. The first kind are simply morons - the gullible halfwits incapable of any semblance of coherent thought, who are easily duped by Kremlin propaganda.

The second are those supported by Kremlin funds, who actively seek to support Russian objectives by pretending to "moral values" and the "pursuit of peace." We've seen this many times in the West, from the CND to the Greenham Common Peace Women's Collective, as well as of course the funding of the Brexit campaign, the funding of Le Pen's neofascist Party in France, the aiding of the Trump campaign in 2016, and so many other examples in a long, long list.

Either way, history indicates that both the "useful idiots" and the cynical manipulators are more often successful in shaping outcomes than we'd like to believe.
