There are lots of really stupid things people believe, but my all-time favorite gym folly is people wrapping themselves in clingwrap so they pour with sweat during their workouts. Then they rush to the changing room and step on the scales and proudly shout "I lost 2 pounds this workout!" A brilliant idea, and very effective - provided they never take another drink of water in their lives...
