There are really two strands to the argument against the so-called "pro-life" stance. The first is that it's intellectually incoherent. If people don't want abortions to occur then they should support wide availability of contraception on demand. This, and absolutely nothing else, has been empirically proven to reduce demand for abortions. In reality, of course, the so-called "pro-life" folk aren't interested in life at all; they are profoundly eager to control women's reproductive rights. The second part of the argument is simply hypocritical, as the so-called "pro-life" people aren't interested in life after birth; hence cuts to education, welfare, etc. that are beloved of the far-right theofascists who love to imagine they love the baby Jesus. They love life only when it's in the womb, apparently - after that, pro-gun eagerness takes over and screw the 34,000+ gunshot deaths per year that makes the USA the most dangerous country on Earth.
