There's a strong argument for shutting the UN down entirely. It is mostly a well-paid retirement home for washed-up politicians and a place for tinpot dictators to grandstand once a year or so. The UN "peacekeeping" deployments are either totally ineffective (Rwanda, Mogadishu) or actually make things much worse (Haiti). The WHO crumbled under political pressure during our recently fashionable coronapanic and withdrew data that could have helped make a case for more coherent policies. UNICEF does little and what it does do can easily be done by other more focused organizations. In short, the UN is a stale expensive joke that serves no useful purpose. The Security Council is merely the most obviously pointless aspect of a totally worthless organization.
