There's a very good case to be made that the US Republican Party has inflicted more harm on the USA (and on many other countries as a result) than any external enemy could ever have hoped to accomplish. Today's repellent creatures infesting the House and Senate are the direct descendants of Eisenhower and his cynical cronies, bloated up to a scale beyond anything the small-minded former general could have imagined.
